Ron was an amazing person. He positively influenced countless lives. I was one of many in Up With People who benefitted from time spent with this special person. Ron was the lead driver when I was the Logistics Coordinator for a cast. I was so fortunate to spend a lot of time with him. After every arrival in a new city we had a ceremonial signing of the route sheet, we would both sign it and Ron would write "On Time" and we would high five as we were very proud of our track record of being on time and not keeping the host families waiting. We kept in touch after UWP, most recently last year having a video call to catch up. We loved reminiscing about the time he and I and a few other UWP students were hosted in a Hutterite colony, and how our hosts had not ridden in a bus before; they all got on and Ron took them for a spin on their property, you have never in your life saw so much joy on a bunch of passengers. It really was a unique life experience for them, Ron was so proud he could do that for them. I wish back then we had smart phones, I would have loved to capture the look on Ron's face and the others, however it is forever etched in my memory. I love and will miss you Ron. Thank you so much for being the amazing person you were and for being a consistent source of wisdom, warmth and kindness to so many. My sincere condolences to his family.
