Obituary of Marjorie J. Wurtenberger

Wurtenberger, Marjorie J. née Darling Passed away peacefully on April 3, 2022 in Tucson, Arizona. Marge was the first of two daughters born to Harry and Helen (McNess) Darling. She grew up in Amherst, NY; graduated from Buffalo State Teachers College in three years. She taught for a short period of time and then met and married her beloved husband Bob (late Robert Wurtenberger). Together they built their home and family in Pendleton, NY. They had three daughters.
Marge delighted in making beautiful clothing and was a wonderful seamstress for her girls. As her daughters became more independent, Marge would substitute teach at Starpoint Central Schools.
Marge had a great quiet sense of humor that only those closest to her would experience.
She was an active member of Pendleton Center United Methodist Church and participated in many a fish fry, rummage sale, and the “ You and I” organization.
She is survived by her three devoted daughters: Shelley (David) Kayne, Julie(Richard)Beutel and Amy Hothow; her treasured grandchildren: Christa, Sarah, Daniel, Christopher and Cameron; her six great grandchildren with a seventh “ on the way”; her cherished sister Elaine (late William) Schreiber and many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and family.
A memorial service is planned for September 24, 2022 at 1:00pm at Pendleton Center United Methodist Church. Donations can be made to Pendleton Center United   Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
