Obituary of Linda Basham-Gilbert

Obituary Linda Basham-Gilbert was born September 20, 1953 in Tucson, Arizona. Linda passed away on August 17, 2018 with her husband and two dogs, Cisco and Bandit by her side. She is survived by her loving husband Manning Gilbert. Brother and sister-in-law David and Celia Basham. Sister and brother-in-law Ellen and John Richardson. Nieces Yvonne Basham Robles (Steven), Colleen Richardson, Stephanie Saddler and Lindsey Saddler. Nephews David Basham Jr. and Neil Richardson (Joanne). Stepson Russell Gilbert (Megan) and stepdaughter Kristin Gilbert Taylor (Marc). Granddaughters Natasha Gilbert, Shantea Moffett and Brooklyn Taylor. Grandson Zachary Gilbert. Great nieces Layla Robles, Jenna Richardson and great nephew Fabian Robles. Linda is preceded in death by grandparents on both sides, father Ray Basham and Mother Ruth Basham (Evans) and her best friend Patty Saddler. Writing a typical obituary proved difficult as Linda was not a typical woman. She worked for the City of Tucson as the Superintendent of Communications for the Tucson Police Department, retiring after 32 years. She married her best friend Manning Gilbert after years of missed connections in 1994 taking on the role of mother and grandmother without missing a beat. Linda was many things to many people, a fierce friend and a devoted wife. Linda was the mama bear whose cubs you dared not cross. Linda lent her strength and support to all who needed it, with a grace and humility that is impossible to match. To her grandbabies, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephew she was the bringer of magic. Spinning holidays into enchanting events, leaving lasting memories in our hearts and minds. Linda is our magic, a one of a kind soul, who will be immensely missed. Interment will be held September 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Marana Veterans Memorial Cemetary, Marana Arizona. Celebration of Life will be held September 4th immediately following the interment, at the home of Yvonne and Steven Robles located at 4925 W Paseo Don Carlos, Tucson AZ 85757.
