She is also survived by two grandchildren and was a loving grandmother to Iris and Ben. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ruth Szkup. Maria married Chuck in 1997 and were devoted to each other to the end. Maria was a truck driver with her husband. They many awards as Top Team drivers throughout the years. Maria's life was filled with horses, dogs, family and friends. Her benevolent personality provided countless strays and homeless animals a forever home. Maria passed away on June 28, 2019, at her home, She could have gone to hospice for her final days but she wanted to be home with her animals! Maria lived a life of kindness, laughter and generous, unconditional love. She was the first to organize a party or offer a helping hand.
