Obituary of Robert C Koerner

Obituary Surrounded by friends, Robert C. “Bob” Koerner passed away on January 8th, 2019, following a brief illness. Born on November 29th, 1948, Bob spent most of his youth in Stamford, Connecticut, eventually graduating from Rippowam High School. Bob later earned his MBA degree from The University of Connecticut. Bob moved to Becket, Massachusetts, and was a longtime resident of Becket. When not riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle or playing with his dog Smokey, Bob was an avid ham radio operator often competing in competitions where the goal was to make the largest number of confirmed ham radio connections around the world. While living in Becket, Bob was a store manager for a local Radio Shack. Bob moved to Tucson, Arizona, and was a longtime resident of Tucson. Bob continued his interests in motorcycles and ham radio operations. He also started an import business importing vacuum tubes often used in vintage ham radio equipment. He quickly discovered that owners of other vintage electronic equipment, such as old Fender amps, needed access to vacuum tubes as well. We’ll miss Bob’s inquisitiveness, his love of that “wind in your face” experience, his quick often dry wit, and his entrepreneurial spirit. Bob is survived by his nieces, his siblings, his aunt, and his cousins. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Robert C Koerner, please visit our floral store.
