I will miss you , and I love you. I’m so thankful that I had you in my life for the last 34 years and it’s just really hard for me to put in words and explain how much you meant to me. I’m so glad I got to see you last year in Vegas for Azure’s wedding. All I can think of is your laughter, your smile and all the little jokes you used to tell me. I’m so glad you were there when I had my car accident, you requested a plastic surgeon for my 72 stitches on my face so my eye would look right afterwards. I could barely open my eyes and you were telling me that everything would be OK Marcus. You always said I walked too fast, so I promise to walk slower.

As a young girl I always looked forward to coming over for visits. Auntie Barb, thank you for always making me feel welcomed. Thank you for always looking upon me with kind, bright eyes. ❤️ Whenever i See you in my mind’s eye, it’s enough to bring a smile to my own eyes. That love you brought into the world with each patience, every kindness and expression of care to family, friends, patients, and surely colleagues and even strangers lives on in each of us. Your kindness and your generosity are an inspiration. Thank you for including me among your loved ones—an extra little baby bird wanting after-school snack, your attention and your love which you so generously shared again and again. Thank you for being you.

I will hold on to every last memory just as I’m holding on to you in this photo. The countless, adventurous walks in the woods creating trails and tree houses, trips to the beach from sunrise to sunset, crazy driving down the blocks ( sshhhh! Haha) , surprise pick ups from school and getting to ride on double decker busses with Azure, the best sleepovers on earth, the list goes on! I will cherish every single moment and want to thank you so much for the love and support you have always given me, especially recently! Thank you for your unconditional love, contagious smile and laughter and just being who you are! I will miss you very much ! I Love You. Until we meet again Grams. Visit me in my dreams Kay?
Your “ Sweet Babygirl “.

My mom Barbara Harpole, who married my Dad and took us kids in as her own when I was 13. She never complained, she always encouraged, and reminded me to do my best. I’d never seen her happier than when my little sister Azure was born, she re assured me that I would also always be her daughter. She let me do things that she knew I wanted to do but that dad would not approve of , like Christmas presents and driving down to Renville when I was trying to learn how to drive and didn’t have my license yet. She was the best grandma ever, always taking her grandkids on safari around the neighborhood with the dogs, LOL. She had the kindest heart and seemed to see the best in people, which made her the best kind of nurse. I followed in her footsteps becoming that same kind of nurse, and for that I am grateful. I think of her often especially when I make her Thanksgiving cornbread stuffing, and beef over rice which happens to be my favorite meal. When they relocated to Arizona I lost something very valuable that I was never able to replace however much I tried. I will miss her presence in my life deeply.

My mom was one of the funniest people I've ever know, we spent a lot of our time together laughing. Or shopping. Or both at once. She loved her sweets too. We had a certain Dairy Queen and fro yo place we frequented a lot. I already miss her so much.
