Obituary of Elaine Suzanne Klopp

Elaine Suzanne Klopp, 81, died on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Peppi’s Hospice in Tucson, AZ.

Elaine was born on March 2, 1940, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to the late Alfred and Sue Martin. She was the oldest of four children and is survived by her siblings Alfred, Karen and Thomas. Growing up, Elaine was a kind and responsible older sister and was close to her siblings who will miss her dearly.

Elaine was married to the late Stanley Klopp, a PA State Trooper, and had four children. Elaine’s story was an inspirational one. Following her divorce, she found the strength and motivation to enter nursing school at Northampton Community College, become a Registered Nurse and raise four successful children. She worked for many years and retired from Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, PA caring for patients in the intensive care unit.

Through her life, she was an avid skier, reader, gardener and loved dogs and cats. She was a Prothonotary at the Monroe County Courthouse before becoming a full-time mom to care for her children. After retiring from the hospital, she worked part time at the Croc store in Tannersville and loved meeting new people that came in the store, so much so, she received the Employee of the Month award several times. Elaine was a dedicated patriot always supporting our U.S. Veterans, a proud Republican and was active in helping out with elections for many years.

She spent most of her life and raised her children in the Pocono region of northeastern Pennsylvania and moved to Arizona in 2015.

Elaine is survived by her daughters Amy Olsen and Tracy Klopp, sons Matthew Klopp and John Klopp and grandson David Updike.

The family wishes consideration in giving to one of Elaine’s favorite charities, Project K9 Hero. We are so grateful for the service of our nation's retired Police K-9 and Military Working Dog Heroes. Project K-9 Hero is here to honor them in retirement, and ensure the best quality of life for them, by providing assistance with medical costs, food, and end of duty services. https://projectk9hero.networkforgood.com/
