Obituary of Rebecca Lynn Gerrettie

Obituary Rebecca Lynn Gerrettie was born April 18, 1962 in Tucson, Arizona. Rebecca passed away on August 25, 2018 at Casa De La Luz with her husband by her side after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Rebecca was a Tucson native and long-time employee at the University of Arizona. While growing up, she had a love for rodeo and showing horses. She graduated from Sahuarita High School in 1980 and there she participated in swim team and FFA. Rebecca enjoyed the simple things in life. She chose to live her life in the moment. Most of all she loved time spent with her family, friends and two dogs, Sadie and Bailey. She was also a very passionate Green Bay Packers fan. Becoming a grandmother was something that brought her much happiness and joy in her life. She cherished every moment spent with her granddaughter. She was a beautiful and wonderful woman, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Her strength and courage will live on within those who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed by many, but will forever be in our hearts. The family thanks all who contributed to Rebecca’s Go Fund Me, which provided continued healthcare coverage and helped to cover additional medical expenses. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Dishner. Children, Christina and Johnny Gerrettie, Nicole Frear (Alex), Nicole and Daniel Dishner. Grandchildren, Brycelynn and Hunter Frear. Parents, Roger Hoogerwerf (Sally) and Kathy Hoogerwerf (Darrel Brinkerhoff). Siblings, Kelli Hoogerwerf (Mike Miros) and Erik Hoogerwerf (Joelle). Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins. Celebration of Life will be held September 4th at 1:00 p.m. at New Life Bible Fellowship located at 4900 W.
