Obituary of Roger N Lavender

Obituary Born April 18, 1948, to Jack and Mary Jane Lavender Humphrey in Bloomington, Roger died July 1, 2018, at his home in Tucson, Arizona, after a short illness. He is survived by his beloved mother, his brother and best friend Michael Lavender (Bonnie) of Bloomington, IN, his only niece Sara Lavender Gibson (Sam), also of Bloomington; and many cousins, an aunt, Bonnie Lou Lavender of Bloomington and an uncle, Jack (Roberta) Raper of Beaumont, CA. He was predeceased by his father Jack and his stepfather Jim Humphrey. Roger was a decorated, disabled Navy Vietnam veteran and was very proud of his service. He loved to discuss (at times cuss) IU and University of Arizona basketball and all forms of motor sports with his brother. He had a special fondness for horses and dogs and as he joked, usually more than humans. Arrangements are being handled by Oasis Cremation and Funeral Care in Tucson. At Roger’s request, there will be no service. Family asks that you take a moment to leave condolences or share a memory at https://www.oasiscremationandfuneralcare.com/listings.
