Obituary of Jeffrey Allen Zegeer

Obituary Zegeer, Jeffrey Allen, My dear brother and friend passed away peacefully September 20, 2019 at the age of 63. Jeff was born in Charleston, WV on October 19, 1955 to Martha and Fred Zegeer. He traveled to Arizona on month long adventure with his mother and me 1960 via Yellowstone Park in an American Rambler station wagon. His mother fell in love with Arizona and his father followed them to Phoenix. Jeff loved traveling and the companionship of family and friends. He helped his mother during her last years and was my protector through elementary and high school. He conquered many challenges in his life including the loss of his son Justin. Jeff was involved and volunteered in his community of Amado, Arizona where he had lived since 2007, and was liked by all. His strongest asset was his compassionate and giving heart which will be a loss to all that knew him. Jeff gave me a funny plaque, “I smile because you’re my sister, and I laugh because there’s nothing you can do about it”, and I will miss that humor. Jeff is survived by his sister Abreeza Zegeer, 5 nieces and nephews, their children and children’s children and his adopted brother and dear friend Russell Venezuela. The funeral will be private. Instead of flowers and because of his love for his community please consider making a donation in his name to the Amado Food Bank, Arizona or to your own local food bank.
