Obituary of Donovan Cole Allgood

Obituary Donovan Cole Allgood age 26 who had recently returned to Tucson AZ to live, passed away in his home, on Sunday, August 18th, 2019. He was born in Okla.City on November 19th, 1992 where he lived until 8th grade when he and his mother moved to Muskogee, Ok. The two of them moved to Tucson at the end of that school year making him an “Okie from Muskogee”. When Donovan last lived in Tucson, he had been a member of Pima Street Baptist Church. As a child growing up in Oklahoma his family was associated with a history re-enactment group called the “Guthrie Gunfighters” who were based in Guthrie Ok. On Saturdays dressed in western garb they would perform skits based on events which happened in that area. Donovan always took the part of a “good guy” and enjoyed putting the “bad guys” behind bars. He began the next year of school at Flowing Wells High School but became a student of Primavera Online HS for his Senior year. His graduation was held at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. He was very proud that despite his medical challenges which restricted him to a wheelchair most of the time, they allowed him to “walk” across the stage to receive his diploma. Another experience that most people were unaware of is his experiences with “Challenge Air” which was a nonprofit organization made up of small aircraft owner/pilots who would give free flights to handicapped children. Donovan enjoyed participating in three of their events. Their goal is to show the children that although they are differently abled anything is still possible. The organizer of these events, a pilot himself, is also confined to a wheelchair. Donovan was the youngest son of Louis H. Allgood of Okla. City and Lynn Harbison-Blauser of Tucson. Surviving siblings include two half-brothers, Billy J Allgood and Bobby J Allgood both of Okla. City and Joshua L Allgood of Tucson. He had one Grandmother, Ruth Shelhope of Midwest City, OK and one Grandfather, Scott Harbison of Palmdale, CA. A Memorial Service will be held at Pima Street Baptist Church, 5056 E. Pima St., Tucson Az 85712 (the southwest corner of Pima St and Rosemont) on September 1st. The service will begin about 12:15pm right after the morning service. The family invites you to come and worship God with them and stay after to celebrate Donovan’s life and say farewell. His family chose Oasis Cremation and Funeral Service to assist in his final arrangements. They are in the Flowing Wells area, 1687 W Prince Rd. They can be contacted at 520-347-4443.
