Obituary of Socorro V Backowski

Obituary Socorro V. Backowski, 67 12/18/1951 - 7/30/2019 Born 12-18-51 entered eternal rest surrounded by her loving family 7-30-19 in Tucson, Az. She is preceded in death by our parents Jose A. Vasquez and Socorro H. Vasquez. Survived by brothers and sisters: Jose A. (Rosario), Zoila, Jesus A., Celia (Ochoa), Jorge A., Maria (Harnick), and Sylvia. As well as her numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. One of her first jobs was a student worker thru the NYC student program at the 803rd Security Police squad at Davis Monthan. She was employed as a secretary for the first Bilingual Agency in Tucson (Gamez-Mayers). She also worked for Mountain Bell/US West starting as a telephone operator working her way up to management as a supervisor. She loved music and loved to dance. While attending PCC, she was a member of the Folklorico Club. She was humorous, caring, feisty, and a fighter until her very end. She loved her family and family get togethers. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, especially with her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Memorial mass is Saturday 8-10-19 at 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 601 E. Ft.
