Obituary of Beatriz P Ganem

Beatriz P. Ganem

11/28/1958 – 9/15/2021

Beatriz Ganem (Bea) was born November 28, 1958 in Agua Prieta, Sonora Mexico, a few minutes from Douglas, AZ, where we lived with our Grandparents and two uncles, Alfonso and Ruben. At an early age, Beatriz could accomplish anything she set her mind to do. In high school, she was an avid tennis player and powerful competitor on the team. She was the quarterback for the women’s football team.

Beatriz also enjoyed reading, learning, jogging in Rock ‘n’ Roll marathons, traveling, visiting Rocky Point, Puerto Vallarta, Hawaii, and Jamaica. Beatriz enjoyed many collegiate sporting events, namely football and basketball. She loved art, enjoyed painting, and used the “Bea” touch to decorate her home, and office, with creative ideas.

She moved to Tucson in 1977 to attend the University of Arizona. She, her twin sister, Aglae, and her Mother, Aglae Yeager, received their Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 1983. Soon after graduation, she was hired by the IRS in their Corporate and Partnership Tax Division. She was issued her Certified Public Accountant license on July 9, 1990. She was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants. In 1987, she married Albert Ganem and embarked on her own successful tax business from 1990 to her passing, September 15, 2021.

Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her survivors including her brothers, Jorge Sanchez (Bill), Leonard Sanchez (Glenda), Lawrence Sanchez (Kelly), sisters, Aglae Ammon, Maggie Sanchez Sigala (Carlos), step brothers, Victor Yeager (Sabine) and Todd Yeager (Carol), and step sisters, Kim Heard (John), and Joyce Parish; her uncles, Alfonso Varela (Margarita), and Ruben Varela (Mary), and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jorge G. Sanchez P., Aglae G. Yeager, and step father Eldon E. Yeager, and Albert F. Ganem.

A funeral service will be held at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave., Tucson, AZ 85701, on

Saturday, October 23, 2021. Rosary at 9:30 a.m.; followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Community Foodbank of Southern Arizona ( https://www.communityfoodbank.org) or Arizona Heart Association (https://www.heart.org).

I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
